“Mr. O is the kind of person that always brightens your day. There’s no way to come out of a conversation with him and not be smiling.”
Former Student – George Stevens Academy – Class of 2017
Describe how music has impacted your life.
Being a mainly math and science oriented individual, music and the arts always gave me a creative outlet. I started out in church choir and school chorus, eventually moving to middle school band and continuing to high school.
Describe your connection to Mr. O
Mr. O is the kind of person that always brightens your day. There’s no way to come out of a conversation with him and not be smiling. There were very few clarinet players in the GSA band during my time there and Mr. O gave me the guidance and mentorship needed to play first clarinet over the years.
Describe Mr. O in three words.
Passionate, enthusiastic, caring
What is your most memorable story involving Mr. O?
Every year I participated in Mr. O’s holiday angels ensemble where we played holiday music for the residents at Parker Ridge. The joy that Mr. O got from seeing us play and helping us with the music was incredible to see. And of course, he’s always a hit at basketball games 😉
If you could ask Mr. O any question, what would it be?
If you could go back in time and change one thing, what would it be?
